  • X0535+262 - rose to ~90 mCrab (also see ATel 676)
  • X1630-472 - a small number of observations show the intensity near 200 mCrab, however, given the proximity of the Sun to this region of the sky, the possibility that this is a spurious result cannot be eliminated (also see ATel 675)
  • Cyg X-1 - up to ~500 mCrab and HR2 appears to have declined slightly (this suggests that a transition to the high/soft state could come soon)

19 December 2005 --

Week 515 results (2005 December 9 - 15)

  • GX 3+1 - may have risen from ~200 to ~330 mCrab
  • Aql X-1 - may have risen to ~65 mCrab
  • X1957+115 - may have decreased to ~13 mCrab

  • X0918-548 - near 13 mCrab
  • Cir X-1 - variable with a peak intensity of ~440 mCrab
  • X1608-522 - decreased to ~65 mCrab
  • XTE J1726-476 - in the range 50 to 100 mCrab (data are subject to relatively large errors)
  • Swift J1753.5-0127 - ~15 mCrab
  • XTE J1818-245 - roughly 30 mCrab

  • X0918-548 - rose to ~13 mCrab and possibly higher

11 October 2005 --

Week 505 results (2005 September 30 - October 6)

  • X1608-522 - up to ~150 mCrab at the end of the week
  • IGR J17098-3626 - ~35 mCrab (based on noisy data)
  • XTE J1726-476 - this is a new source (see ATEL Nos. 623 and 624) that rose from <13 mCrab to ~80 mCrab; the spectrum is rather soft
  • Swift J1753.5-0127 - ~15 mCrab
  • XTE J1818-245 - declined to ~60 mCrab
  • HETE J1900.1-2455 - still ~20 mCrab

  • X0535+262 - the average of a a low no. of observations (2) indicate a strength of ~1.3 Crab

  • X1608-522 - decreased to ~170 mCrab
  • GRO J1655-40 - down to ~1.4 Crab
  • GRS1737-31 - < 13 mCrab
  • X1745-203 - ~190 mCrab

6 June 2005 --

Week 487 results (2005 May 27 - June 2)

  • X0535+26 - ~800 mCrab on the basis of one observation
  • Cir X-1 - < 15 mCrab for most of the week
  • X1608-522 - down to ~230 mCrab
  • GRO J1655-40 - ~1.85 Crab and decreasing
  • IGR J17098-3626 - no clear trend is apparent in noisy data
  • GRS1737-31 - may have increased briefly to ~20 mCrab
  • X1745-203 (in glob. cluster NGC 6440) - ~140 mCrab
  • SAX J1808.4-3658 - increased to ~50 mCrab

31 May 2005 --

Week 486 results (2005 May 20 - 26)

  • X0535+262 - reached ~450 mCrab as it continued to rise
  • Cir X-1 - mostly below 15 mCrab; this is the weakest 16.6 day cycle in 9+ years
  • X1608-522 - down to ~260 mCrab as it slowly declines
  • GRO J1655-40 - near 2.6 Crab
  • IGR J17098-3626 - down to ~33 mCrab as it slowly decreases in strength
  • X1745-203 - ~160 mCrab

23 May 2005 --

Week 485 results (2005 May 13 - 19)

  • X0535+262 - sparse results (because the Sun is nearby in direction at this time of year) indicate that the source could be as strong as 200 mCrab, but this should be regarded as tentative (again, because of possible errors induced by effects of the Sun)
  • Cir X-1 - < 13 mCrab
  • X1608-522 - in the range 260 to 330 mCrab as it declines slowly and a bit erratically
  • GRO J1655-40 - flares to nearly 5 Crab
  • IGR J17098-3626 - continues near 50 mCrab
  • X1745-203 - rose rapidly to ~230 mCrab
  • Aql X-1 - < 10 mCrab

19 May 2005 --

Week 484 results (2005 May 6 - 12)

  • Neutron-star systems:
  • X1608-522 - slight decline to 400 mCrab
  • Aql X-1 - decline to 20 mCrab
  • Cir X-1 - low but detected at 15 mCrab
  • EXO2030+375 - small outburst begins to decline, at 50 mCrab
  • X0535+262 - pulsar brightening to 55 mCrab
  • Black hole systems:
  • GRO J1655-40 - flaring to 3-4 Crab, and up to 5 Crab in current week
  • GRS1915+105 - flaring to 1-3 Crab
  • GX339-4 - down to 5 mCrab and less than 3 sigma
  • Other transients:
  • IGR J17098-3626 - starting to decline, near 50 mCrab
  • AGN:
  • Mkn 421 - steady at 12 mCrab

Week 483 results (2005 April 29 - May 5)

  • Neutron-star systems:
  • X1608-522 - average is 450 mCrab, with superburst on May 5 (ATEL #482)
  • Aql X-1 - still ~30 mCrab
  • EXO 0748-676 - decreased to 12 mCrab
  • Cir X-1 - not detected! ... below 4 mCrab
  • X1730-333 (Rapid Burster) - declining further, below 40 mCrab
  • Black hole systems:
  • GRO J1655-40 - still increasing gradually, to ~1.6 Crab
  • GRS1915+105 - still bright, 1-2 Crab
  • GX339-4 - down to 8 mCrab... heading into quiescence?
  • Other transients:
  • IGR J17098-3626 - still in outburst at 66 mCrab
  • AGN:
  • MKN 421 - 12.1 (1.9) mCrab

3 May 2005 --

Week 482 results (2005 April 22 - 28)

  • X0614+091 - increased to a level of 70 to 80 mCrab
  • EXO 0748-676 - continues near 30 mCrab
  • Cir X-1 - has not exceeded 70 mCrab for over two weeks
  • X1608-522 - varied erratically in the range 250 to 400 mCrab
  • GRO J1655-40 - ~1.5 Crab
  • X1730-333 (Rapid Burster) - in the declining phase of an outburst, and was mostly < 70 mCrab
  • Aql X-1 - ~30 mCrab
  • GRS1915+105 - active with flares as strong as 3.5 Crab after roughly 10 weeks with rather low variability

25 April 2005 --

Week 481 results (2005 April 15 - 21)

  • EXO 0748-676 - continues to appear at intensities of 25 to 30 mCrab
  • X1608-522 - down to 330 to 430 mCrab (range of variability)
  • GRO J1655-40 - rose above 1.7 Crab
  • GX 339-4 - declined to ~15 mCrab or less
  • X1730-333 (Rapid Burster) - as strong as ~160 mCrab
  • Aql X-1 - very roughly ~50 mCrab (sparse data)
  • Cyg X-1 - near ~0.5 Crab with typical high hardness ratios

21 April 2005 --

Week 480 results (2005 April 8 - 14)

  • V0332+53 - up to ~13 mCrab for a few days
  • EXO 0748-676 - rose rapidly to ~30 mCrab near the beginning of the week and then remained more or less steady near that strength
  • X1323-619 - may be up to ~13 mCrab
  • X1608-522 - down to ~470 mCrab
  • GRO J1655-40 - up to nearly 1.5 Crab as it steadily increases
  • GX339-4 - decreased to ~50 mCrab
  • Aql X-1 - ~80 mCrab
  • Cyg X-1 - flared to ~2 Crab (this is the end of the flare noted last week)

11 April 2005 --

Week 479 results (2005 April 1 - 7)

  • X1608-522 - continues to be detected in the vicinity of 600 mCrab
  • GRO J1655-40 - rose slowly to ~1.1 Crab
  • X1705-440 - rose to ~350 mCrab
  • Aql X-1 - rose to ~50 mCrab
  • Cyg X-1 - flared to ~2 Crab

4 April 2005 --

Week 478 results (2005 March 25 - 31)

  • X1608-522 - varied in the range 530 to 700 mCrab
  • GRO J1655-40 - roughly steady near 1 Crab
  • GX 339-4 - down to ~100 mCrab
  • X1735-444 - is near ~250 mCrab
  • EXO 2030+375 - the peak flux of ~25 mCrab during the most recent orbital cycle is the lowest seen in a few years, and reverses the recent trend of increasing strength
  • 1E2259.0+5836 - rose slowly over the last few weeks to ~25 mCrab

28 March 2005 --

Week 477 results (2005 March 18 - 24)

  • X1608-522 - continues at nearly 500 mCrab
  • GRO J1655-40 - peaked and then declined to ~1.3 Crab
  • GX 339-4 - down to ~130 mCrab as it very slowly declines
  • X1702-429 - up to ~50 mCrab
  • X1705-440 - rose to ~250 mCrab

21 March 2005 --

Week 476 results (2005 March 11 - 17)

  • V0332+53 - declined to < 13 mCrab
  • X0512-401 - continues to be seen near 20 mCrab
  • X1608-522 - declined from ~640 mCrab to ~470 mCrab
  • GRO J1655-40 - rose to ~1.7 Crab

15 March 2005 --

Week 475 results (2005 March 4 - 10)

  • V0332+53 - reversed its decaying trend and increased to ~20 mCrab
  • X0512-401 - increased a bit to about 20 mCrab
  • X1608-522 - is in outburst once again, since it increased to ~470 mCrab
  • GRO J1655-40 - increased to ~200 mCrab

7 March 2005 --

Week 474 results (2005 February 19 - March 3)

  • V0332+53 - < 10 mCrab
  • GRO J1008-57 - < 15 mCrab
  • Cir X-1 - looks exceptionally feeble at ~50 mCrab while in the part of its 16.6 day cycle when it is usually at a high strength

28 February 2005 --

Week 473 results (2005 February 18 - 24)

  • V0332+53 - < 30 mCrab
  • X0512-401 - ~13 mCrab
  • GRO J1008-57- declined from ~30 mCrab to ~13 mCrab
  • X1953+319 - average intensity is up to ~20 mCrab

22 February 2005 --

Week 472 results (2005 February 11 - 17)

  • V0332+53 - declined to ~60 mCrab
  • GRO J1008-57 - rose to ~30 mCrab in the middle of the week and remained close to that strength through the rest of the week (also see ATEL No. 413)
  • GX339-4 - rather steady near 180 mCrab
  • X1705-440 - rose to ~130 mCrab
  • X1905+000 - < 10 mCrab

  • V0332+53 - decreased to ~150 mCrab

  • V0332+53 - decreased to ~230 mCrab

  • GX339-4 - ~190 mCrab
  • X1905+000 - possibly rose to ~18 mCrab
  • GRS1915+105 - strong, as high as 2 Crab, and highly variable

  • V0332+53 - decreased to ~330 mCrab
  • GX 339-4 - still near 150 mCrab with a soft spectrum

Week 468 results (2005 January 14 - 20)

  • XTE J1118+480 - faint outburst continues at 15 mCrab (see ATEL #383 and others following)
  • V0332+53 - decline crosses 400 mCrab
  • GX 339-4 - decreases to ~150 mCrab
  • GRS 1915+105 - unusual conditions: faint (250 mCrab) with a soft spectrum (HR2 < 1.0)
  • Mkn 421 - faint, near 3 mCrab

10 January 2005 --

Week 466 results (2004 December 31 - 2005 January 6)

  • V0332+53 - is now declining, and was at an intensity just below ~1 Crab (1.5-12 keV)
  • EXO0748-676 - rose to ~20 mCrab
