  • X1323-619 - could be as strong as 13 mCrab
  • X1630-472 - down to ~40 mCrab
  • GX 339-4 - ~210 mCrab
  • XTE J1720-318 - down to ~140 mCrab

  • Heads up for week 367: The source X1901+031 has become detectable (> 100 mCrab); PCA observations reveal 2.76 s pulsations. A report with more information has been submitted to the IAU Circulars (Galloway et al.).

3 February 2003 --

Week 365 results (2003 January 24 - 30)

  • X0614+091 - up to 75 mCrab and then a decline to ~25 mCrab
  • X0836-429 - down to ~20 mCrab
  • Cen X-3 - up to ~130 mCrab depending on orbital phase
  • X1636-536 - sparse measurements indicate a low strength, ~25 mCrab

27 January 2003 --

Week 364 results (2003 January 17 - 23)

  • X0614+091 - somewhat strong, ~50 mCrab, and active
  • X0836-429 - up to ~40 mCrab and still on the rise (record high in the RXTE/ASM era)
  • X1630-472 - declined to ~160 mCrab
  • XTE J1720-318 - down to ~290 mCrab (but this is on the basis of relatively few observations)
  • X1803-245 - sparse and noisy-looking data indicate a possible rise above 50 mCrab
  • XTE J1908+094 - ~35 mCrab
  • GRS 1915+105 - rather weak at ~130 mCrab at the end of the week
  • Cyg X-3 - weak with daily averages ~80 mCrab

17 January 2003 --

Week 363 results (2003 January 10 - 16)

  • X0614+091 - ~65 mCrab
  • X0836-429 - could be up to ~13 mCrab
  • XTE J1720-318 - new transient ~400 mCrab
  • GRS 1915+105 - down to a "low" flux of ~150 mCrab, i.e., some of the lowest fluxes from this source in the ASM record

15 January 2003 --

Week 362 results (2003 January 3 - 9)

  • Mkn 421 - ~25 mCrab
  • X1630-472 - ~330 mCrab
  • GX 339-4 - ~330 mCrab
  • XTE J1720-318 - This is a new transient discovered with the ASM on 2003 January 14. Analysis shows the source first clearly on 2003 Jan. 9 when its average strength was ~130 mCrab. See the notice in the IAU Circulars.
  • KS 1947+300 - ~15 mCrab

6 January 2003 --

Week 361 results (2002 December 27 - 2003 January 2)

  • Mkn 421 - ~15 mCrab
  • X1630-472 - ~330 mCrab
  • KS 1947+300 - could be up to ~10 mCrab
  • Cyg X-1 - extremely weak, i.e., as low as 130 mCrab, and rather hard
